The Religous Right is Dead

Jim Wallis certainly deserves to be the first to say it and what better platform than The Daily Show.

It will be interesting to how what is happening in the United States reverberates amongst Australia's religious right.

Thanks for posting the video Chris, Jim Wallis is a tremendous voice for moderate faith and social action. This story in The Australian today seems to show that we unfortunately still live in the past. While the Uniting Church vote would likely be progressive, the larger Pentecostal vote still reverts back to the moralism that Wallis decries of the Religious Right.

Interestingly, in the article is mentioned our most prominent religious activist, Jim Wallace! Unfortunately, this namesake is very much on the right.

Hey Gary,

I think we'll always be a bit behind the Christian movements in the States (thanks for the link too) but it's at least nice to see where this one is heading.

I've also had a bit of a chuckle about how different our Jim Wallace is from the U.S Jim Wallis
